Crust Gourmet Pizza Bars is the first takeaway pizza brand to earn the Heart Foundation Tick on 6 of our pizzas.


At Crust, we've always tried to offer our customers a healthier pizza, and now, we're really proud to become the first takeaway pizza brand to offer our customers a guaranteed healthier choice, with our range of six pizzas carrying the Heart Foundation Tick of Approval.

The introduction of the six Tick Approved pizzas was a natural progression for us - we wanted to show the pizza industry and our customers that it's possible to offer healthier choices that still taste great.  We see earning the Tick on our six new pizzas as an investment in the overall health of our customers, and hope you agree.

Our Tick Approved pizzas contain around half the fat and saturated fat of comparable pizzas available from other take away outlets, and 50-70% less sodium. The Tick Approved pizzas also contain virtually no trans fat and provide up to 80% of the recommended daily fibre intake for an adult.

To earn the Tick, we had to meet strict standards for saturated and trans fat, sodium, and vegetable/fibre content. We also had to agree to be subjected to rigorous and ongoing independent testing of pizzas from our stores anywhere in Australia, to make sure we maintain the standards set by the Heart Foundation.  In developing the new pizzas, we've made a number of changes, like introducing a new wholegrain base to increase the fibre content, and switching from processed meat to fresh meat toppings to reduce both saturated fat and salt content.
